Issue Two of Escape Velocity Released

Issue Two of Escape Velocity Magazine was released today. You can visit our Storefront or just go to the main EV Website for previews and all details. EV is $7.99 in A-4 print, Perfect-Bound, with glossy color covers, or 99 cents in the eBook version, which includes the front and back covers on the first and last pages.

In This Issue: 13 hard sci-fi stories from authors around the world, a special Photo Feature celebrating the 50th anniversary of Explorer 1, America's first satellite, and many other items.

Escape Velocity Magazine Released

Geoff Nelder and I released the first issue of Adventure Books' hard sci-fi magazine this week. It's an A-4 size paperback with glossy covers and heavy cream paper interior. Very nice.

There are twenty short stories, two Photo Features, science articles and a film review of the newly restored version of 'Robinson Crusoe on Mars.'

Interest in the mag spiked so quickly that we had to create a website away from AB, one dedicated strictly to the magazine.

New Release by Adventure Books

Well, admittedly I used my position at AB to publish another book, but sometimes there are things you just HAVE to do. I released a massive collection of my best work (decided by AB Staff, not me) called 'A Question of Balance - Selected Works 1982-2007'

This one is printed in A-4 sized (magazine size, approximately) paperback and runs 544 pages. You need a bookbag to haul the thing around. It contains three complete novels, dozens of short stories, some illustrated science and future-prediction articles from my column at Newsvine, and about 20 Mars photos in tiff format.

Then, I dropped the royalty add-ons to nearly nothing and placed it for sale onsite for a measly $16.99 plus shipping. For a book as huge as this one, that's not bad...

The Global Warming Project

This is the test cover for our upcoming book on climate change. We ask people to use our simple onsite webform to say whatever they wish about global warming. Whether they believe in climate change is not important. As of August 27,2007 we have received about 400 out of a total 1,000 needed submissions for the book. We urge you to have your say in this beautiful book, which is being considered for endorsement by both Greenpeace US/UK and The Office of Al Gore.
